How members talk to each other in The Swan Legacy: what belongs here, what does not, and what happens when a line is crossed.
Last updated 5 August 2026
Who this space is for
The Swan Legacy is a multigenerational membership for adults aged 21 and over. Members include people living with chronic illness, caregivers, clinicians, animal companions' guardians and curious newcomers. Everyone arrives with different knowledge, and that mix is the point.
What we ask of every member
When you post, comment or join an event, we ask you to:
- Speak from your own experience and label it as lived experience, professional insight or published evidence.
- Give other members room to disagree without ridicule, sarcasm or pile-ons.
- Protect privacy — never post another person's medical details, address or contact information.
- Keep dosing conversations descriptive, never prescriptive: describe what you did, not what someone else must do.
- Disclose any commercial interest if you sell, distribute or profit from a product you mention.
What is not allowed
The following is removed on sight, and repeat behaviour ends membership:
- Cure claims, guaranteed outcomes or advice to stop prescribed treatment.
- Sales, solicitation or referral links outside The Swan Legacy's own shop.
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, doxxing or targeting of any group.
- Sharing content involving minors, or offering products to anyone under 21.
- Spam, repeated identical posts, link farming and automated posting.
How enforcement works
Moderators may hide, remove or restore content, and may pause or end a membership. Every one of those decisions is written to our governance log with the moderator, the action and the reason. Members are notified in their inbox when their content is actioned and may reply to ask for a review.
